(Spencer)– Another reminder to lock your vehicle whenever you aren’t around it.
Several area law enforcement agencies say they received numerous reports over the weekend of vehicles that were broken into–and in some cases, some items were reported missing.
In Spencer, a GPS and some cash was reported missing from one vehicle; in another case, a back pack containing paintball equipment was reported missing. Those items were located later by the owner. In another incident, a laptop computer valued at 1,200 dollars was reported missing.
In all, Spencer police say they received nine reports of vehicles that had either been entered and/or had items removed from them. Three reports came from the 1300 block of ninth Avenue East; two from the 800 block of East 13th Street; two from the 600 block of East 13th Street; one in the 1200 block of West 13th Street and one in the 600 block of East 11th Street.
Anyone with any information into any of the incidents is asked to contact the Spencer Police Department.
Spirit Lake police and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating similar reports received from over the weekend.
It isn’t known if all the incidents may be related.
