Single Vehicle Crash On Hwy 18 In Clay County Results In Minor Injuries

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported in a single-vehicle mishap shortly before 2:00 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Highway 18 and 270th Avenue in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Jane Burd of Sioux Center was driving a 2000 Jeep eastbound on Highway 18 when she lost control on the ice-covered road. The vehicle went into the south ditch, traveled across an open cement culvert and came to rest on 270th Avenue…a gravel road.

An unidentified passenger in the vehicle complained of shoulder pain from the seatbelt and sought their own medical attention. No other injuries were reported.

300-dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
