(Emmetsburg)- A traffic stop led to the arrest of two Emmetsburg residents. The Palo Alto County Sheriffs office received a complaint of an erratic driver early Christmas Eve morning, three miles east of Ruthven. The caller said a red sports car was all over the road and continually speeding up and slowing down.
The vehicle was stopped at 3608 5th street in Emmetsburg. Following an investigation, 19-year-old Daman L Hauschen of Emmetsburg was cited for violation of an instruction permit. Also cited was 19-year-old Kela E. Hanson, of Emmetsburg, for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana- a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia- a simple misdemeanor. Items seized during the traffic stop will be sent to the division of criminal investigation lab for testing. The Palo Alto County Sheriffs office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department.
