Palo Alto Co. Rollover Injures Two

November 22, 2014

(Ruthven)– A single-vehicle rollover Saturday in Palo Alto county sent two people to the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office says Shelly Rouse of Ruthven was driving a 1995 Ford eastbound in the 3800 block of 360th Street when she lost control on the ice-covered road. Authorities say the vehicle fishtailed and went into the north ditch where it rolled, coming to rest on the passenger side.

Rouse and a passenger, Megan Rouse, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Ruthven and Ayrshire fire departments. They had to remove the windshield from the vehicle.

Both occupants were taken by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg where they were treated for what was described as non-incapacitating injuries.

A damage estimate to the vehicle wasn’t immediately available.

The mishap took place around Noon Saturday.
