(Emmetsburg)– Another blow for the local economy.
Skyjack Manufacturing has announced it’s temporarily laying off about 95 workers at its plant in Emmetsburg.
Company officials say those affected will still be able to work one week a month so they’ll be able to retain insurance.
Company officials say they hope to be back in full production in April.
They add it’s a result of the national economic downturn.
Skyjack, which manufactures scissor-lift platforms, is a division of Linamar Corproation based out of Guelph, Ontario. Linamar is Canada’s second-largest manufacturer of automobile parts.
