(Spirit Lake)– The President and CEO of Lakes Regional Healthcare is stepping down.
Rich Kielman announced today (Mon.) he’s retiring effective this coming June 30th.
Kielman has been at the helm 18 years.
He cites several changes over the years including major rennovations to the hospital in 1995 and 2004; merging Public Health into the hospital; construction of a community health center in Milford; the start-up of hospice services; a change in the hospital’s name; and an update to its information technology system.
Kielman declined an interview with KUOO news, but in a news release he says he looks forward to teaching college classes part-time in finance and healthcare administration and to doing some limited consulting work, along with spending more time with his wife and family.
Mark Fisher, Chairman of the LRH board of trustees, says a search for a replacement will be getting underway soon.
