(Jackson, Mn.)– A problem with a substation knocked out power to portions of Jackson county Sunday, including the city of Jackson.
Officials with Federated Rural Electric Association of Jackson say the problem originated at a substation near Blue Earth, which in turn caused a circuit breaker to trip at a substation near Sherburn, which provides power to Federated REA’s six substations.
Officials say the outage was reported around 1:38 p.m. Power was restored about nine minutes later to the city of Jackson and portions of Middletown, Enterprise and Dunnell Townships by re-routing power through another switch.
Power was restored to the rest of the affected area around 2:24 p.m.
