(Everly)– A collision in Clay county involving a car and a semi trailer last Friday sent one person to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office says a trailer came unhooked from a semi tractor that was being driven by 40-year-old Timothy Paullin of Spirit Lake and was blocking the road.
Authorities say a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Clarence Mittrucker of Sibley came upon the scene and ocllided with the trailer.
Mittrucker was taken to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Paullin was cited for failure to comply with safety regulations for not putting out warning triangles.
A 1992 Pontiac Grand Am Mittrucker was driving was totaled. An estimate of damage to the semi trailer, owned by Brown Truck Leasing Corporation, wasn’t immediately available.
The collision took place in the 1800 block of 340th Street near Everly.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Spencer Fire and Rescue, the Everly Fire Department and the Spencer Ambulance.
