Winter Games Crowd Sets Record

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The 29th annual University of Okoboji Winter Games are in the record books.

Erin Roe, Program Director for the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, tells KUOO news an estimated 35-thousand people attended the various activities.

Roe attributes excellent snow and ice conditions for the record turnout.

Meanwhile, Roe says plans are already in the works for the 30th annual U of O Winter Games. To commemorate the milestone, she says they’re planning to put together a special website that will contain photographs from memorable events from winter games over those years. She says Brett Thacker, a cheerleader alumnus, came up with the idea.
