(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office has a new deputy.
The board of supervisors Tuesday approved a recommendation from Sheriff Greg Baloun to hire Stacey Treganza as a deputy to replace Rex Ondler who retired last December. Treganza, who worked formerly in the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer, begins his new job February 7th.
In other business, the superivsors approved plans from County Engineer Dan Eckert to resurface county road M-27 from Highway nine south four miles at an estimated cost of 1.2 million dollars. The project is contingent upon congress passing the economic stimulous bill, which would cover the cost.
The supervisors were also briefed on plans for a Conservation Reserve Enhancement Project proposed for 38.6 acres of land in section 12 of Center Grove Township. The project still needs approval of the landowner.
The supervisors also Tuesday reviewed plans for the courthouse employee parking lot. The project has a total estimated cost of slightly more than 440-thousand dollars. A bidletting is set for March 24th. Construction would start June 1st with completion by early fall.
