(Orleans)– A problem with some underground primary lines knocked out power to residents on the west side of Big Spirit Lake Thursday night.
Some were in the dark and cold for up to nine hours.
Nancy Craig of Alliant Energy tells KUOO news 360 of their customers were affected. She says 120 were off for about two and-a-half hours; 60 were off for about four hours; and 185 didn’t get their power restored until after about nine hours…or about 4:30 a.m. this (Friday) morning.
Craig says they started getting reports of the outage around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Many on the east side of the lake reported flickering lights.
