(Spirit Lake)– With many workers in the area facing wage freezes or decreased pay, and others are finding themselves without a job altogether, elected officials in Dickinson county will be getting a pay hike in the upcoming fiscal year.
The board of supervisors voted four-to-one last week to accept a Compensation Board recommendation calling for a three percent increase for each member of the board of supervisors with an additional one thousand dollar bonus for the Chairman; a five percent increase for the Auditor; and a four and-a-half percent increase each for the Recorder, Sheriff and Treasurer.
Supervisor Mardi Allen cast the lone no vote.
