(Des Moines)– Spencer is one of four locations to be named in this year’s Iowa’s “Great Places” program.
Under the program, state and local officials work together to identify grants and other funding sources that can pay for improvements.
Spencer has projects planned to protect its unique art-deco architecture in the downtown area and reuse an old school.
Other great places include Marquette-McGregor, Warren county and West Union.
