Dickinson County’s Oldest Resident, Letitia Lawson, Passes Away At 112

(Milford)– The oldest resident in Dickinson county, and one of the oldest in the state, nation and world has passed away.

Letitia Lawson passed away this past Saturday at the Milford Nursing Center. She was 112-years-old.

Letitia would have turned 113 in April.

She was the world’s 16th oldest person and the sixth oldest in the United States, according to Wikipedia.

Lawson’s husband, John, passed away in 1981.

Funeral services for Letitia Lawson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Union Memorial Church in Milford. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Visitation with the family present will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home in Milford.

Memorials may be left in Letitia’s name for youth community projects.
