Local Projects Allocated Funding In Omnibus Appropriations Act

November 22, 2014

(Washington, D.C.)– Some projects in northwest Iowa stand to get some federal funding if a bill passes Congress and is signed by the President.

The House is scheduled to vote today (Wed.) on the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009. The Senate is expected to take up the measure next week. If it passes both chambers it would then go to the President for his signature.

The measure contains 150-thousand dollars for the city of Spencer for a project to separate its combined sanitary and storm sewer systems. 428-thousand dollars would go to Northwestern College in Orange City for nurse training programs; and United Community Health Center in Storm Lake would receive 190-thousand dollars for construction, renovation and to equip a health center.
