(Rock Rapids)–Authorities say a South Dakota teenager faces a weapon charge in the shooting of a man who was ice fishing in northwest Iowa.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s office says 15-year-old Derek Bakken of Brandon, South Dakota is charged with reckless use of a firearm. He was among a group of teenagers interviewed about a shooting off a bridge near Inwood on March 4.
The Sheriff’s office says Rob Johnson, of Canton, South Dakota, and another man were ice fishing in a shack on the Big Sioux River. A bullet hit the Shack and then hit Johnson in the hip.
