Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against 16-Year-Old

(Spencer)– A Storm Lake teen faces drug charges following a weekend traffic stop Friday evening in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a traffic violation.

A subsequent investigation found the 16-year-old female was allegedly in possession of marijuana and a glass marijuana pipe.

The juvenile, who’s name wasn’t released, was cited into juvenile court for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released to the custody of her brother.

The female juvenile was also cited for excessive speed and underage tobacco possession.
