(George)– A George woman faces a child endangerment charge after authorities say her five-year-old son sustained head lacerations from multiple blows…possibly inflicted by the claw end of a hammer.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Nikki Moreno was arrested Tuesday at her residence in George.
Child endangerment is a class “D” felony. Bond was set at five thousand dollars.
Authorities say the child is currently hospitalized.
In addition to the head lacerations, they say he also sustained a possible factured eye socket and stab wounds to his back. Authorities say the child also has bruises, bite marks, possible cigarette burn marks and an injury on his back that may have been caused by a burn.
Authorities say they determined some of the injuries may have been inflicted by a six-year-old brother, adding the case is still under investigation.
Other children have been removed from the home as the result of a court order.
