(Ruthven)– An Ayrshire teen was injured over the weekend after losing control of a vehicle he was driving.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Mark Langner of Ayrshire was driving a 1998 Dodge truck on County Road B-53 around 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle went into the ditch and struck a field approach. It became airborne and landed on the road, where it rolled. The vehicle went back into the ditch, coming to rest on its top.
Langner was transported by his parents to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for some lacerations and other minor injuries and was released.
The vehicle was totaled.
Langner was cited for failure to maintain control.
The crash took place around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
