Spencer Traffic Stop Results In Three Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop last week in Spencer resutled in the arrests of three people.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle shortly before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 10 block of West Park Street in Spencer.

Upon investigating the deputy learned a front passenger, 25-year-old Abraham Brewer, was wanted on a Sioux county warrant for possession of contraband in a correctional facility. Brewer was then placed under arrest.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the center counsel of the vehicle.

The driver, 19-year-old Jordan Boyd of Spencer, was then arrested.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered the rear passenger, 25-year-old Zachary Lewis of Spencer, was in possession of an ounce of what’s alleged to be marijuana. He was placed under arrest and all three men were booked into the Clay county jail.

Boyd was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; and fifth degree criminal mischief.

Lewis was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.

Brewer was being held on a five thousand dollar cash or surety bond.

Authorities say the investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
