Clay Co. Establishes Measles Hotline; Immunization Clinic Underway

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Clay County Public Health has set up a special hotline pertaining to the measles case that has surfaced in that county.

Anyone with questions about exposure should call 1-800-848-0638.

A free vaccination clinic is going on today (Fri.) on the second floor of the Spencer Medical Arts Building, Suite 206. It will continue until the vaccine is gone.

A child that has not received any MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination or only one MMR and possibly has been exposed to measles should also be directed to the public health clinic for evaluation and vaccination.

If you or or your child has a rash and cough, runny nose and conjunctivitis, have them STAY HOME and call Clay County Public Health immediately at 1-800-848-0638.

If your child has had one MMR dose, your child can have the second vaccination if it has been 30 days or longer since the first dose was administered.
