(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday unanimously approved a new contract with Season’s Center for mental health services.
Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders says it consists of five consecutive one year contracts.
Under the agreement, the county promises to continue its relationship with Seasons Center; the county will contribute up to $10,000 to cover attorney’s fees Seasons Center incurred during the closure of Oak Haven.
In return, Saunders says Season’s Center will maintain the service level the county expects of them and at a price that’s the same as the other counties in the consortium pay.
The Season’s Center board of directors has yet to ratify the proposal. They’re expected to act on it at their next meeting.
The supervisors also Tuesday took no action following a public hearing on a manure management plan submitted by Brad Derner for 167 acres of land two and-a-half miles west of Milford for a 2,400 head cattle operation. The necessary DNR permits have already been obtained for the operation. The lack of action on the county’s part means the operation can proceed.
The board also set August 24th as the date for a bid opening and letting for the Jones Pasture Urban Renewal Project on the east side of Big Spirit Lake; and they voted to enter into a cost sharing agreement with the city of Orleans for the installation of two outdoor warning sirens on the west side of Big Spirit Lake.
