(Primghar)—A single-vehicle crash Saturday near Paullina sent a Meriden man to the hospital.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Ellis Ames was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo southbound when he lost control and went into the west ditch. The vehicle rolled, coming to rest on the passenger’s side.
Ames was freed from the vehicle by witnesses. He was taken by ambulance to Baum Harmon Hospital in Primghar with incapacitating injuries.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000.
The crash was reported to authorities around 5:30 p.m.
It remains under investigation and authorities say charges are pending.
