Burglary Investigation Lands Lake Park Man In Jail

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Lake Park teen faces charges in connection with a rash of burglaries from garages and vehicles in Fostoria and atleast one stolen vehicle.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it responded shortly after 4:00 a.m. Tuesday to the first of nine burglary reports from Fostoria. Cash, financial instruments, electronic devices, tools and clothing were reported stolen, along with a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The stolen vehicle was recovered a short time later by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies found it in a ditch along Highway 71 north of Sioux Rapids. They then made contact with a man who was walking northbound from the vehicle. He was identified as 19-year-old Jarred Snedeker of Lake Park. Upon investigating deputies determined Snedeker had allegedly been involved in the burglaries and the theft of the vehicle.

Snedeker was taken into custody and was transported to the Clay county jail on a charge of theft in the first degree…a class “C” felony.

Authorities say Snedeker faces additional charges related to another stolen vehicle from Arnolds Park, along with the burglaries in Fostoria.

Snedeker was booked into the Clay county jail on bond of $10,000. A hold was also placed on his custody from Dickinson county.
