(Spencer)– A traffic stop last Sunday in Clay county resulted in OWI and drug charges being filed against a Spirit Lake man.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Stuart Kruse of Spirit Lake. A subsequent investigation resulted in Kruse being arrested for operating while intoxicated…first offense.
A subsequent patdown of Kruse resulted in the deputy finding what’s alleged to be marijuana. Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia were also filed against Kruse, along with excessive speed.
The traffic stop took place shortly before 10:00 p.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Clay County Road M-27.
