Ethanol Refiner Offers Incentive For NW IA Retailers Looking To Install Blender Pumps

November 22, 2014

(Marcus)– A northwest Iowa ethanol refiner is making grants available to fuel retailers in 12 northwest Iowa counties looking to install pumps that dispense mid-level blends of ethanol…also known as blender pumps.

The board of directors of Little Sioux Corn Processors in Marcus is offering grants of $15,000 each to install 10 blender pumps in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sac, Sioux and Woodbury counties.

Interested retailers must submit an approved state or federal grant application and proof of completed blender pump installation to Little Sioux Corn Processors. Applications are subject to approval by the company’s board of directors.

Ron Wetherell, Chairman of the Little Sioux Corn Processors Board, says there’s a strong need for E85 and mid-level ethanol blends in northwest Iowa. He’s hopeful the grant program will entice more retailers into putting in the pumps.
