(Spencer)– Senior citizens in Buena Vista, Emmet, Osceola, Palo Alto and Sioux counties have elected new representatives to the board of directors for the Northwest Aging Association of Spencer.
Rex Shearer of Storm Lake was elected to represent Buena Vista county; Roger Anderson was elected Emmet county’s representative; Larry Pedley of Sibley will represent Osceola county; Dennis Schumacher of Mallard was elected Palo Alto county’s representative; and Sioux county will be represented by Mabel Mantel of Orange City.
The new directors will join Robert Rose of Clay county, Irene Kruger of Dickinson county, Ruth Caswell of Lyon county and Chris White of O’Brien county.
Each director serves a two-year term and is responsible to their constituents age 60 and older in each county. Board members oversee the governance of the Northwest Aging Association, setting the budget, approving contracts and agency policies and hiring and evaluating the executive director.
The board meets monthly at the Northwest Aging Association offices in Spencer. The meetings are open to the public.
