(Estherville)– A car-motorcycle collision Wednesday at the intersection of county roads N26 and A34 in Emmet county claimed the life of an Estherville man.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Kyle Vancleave of Estherville was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound when he failed to stop for a stop sign. He collided with a westbound 2001 Pontiac driven by 41-year-old Kelly Caleb of Spencer.
Vancleave was pronounced dead at the scene; Caleb had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital.
Deputies say the collision, which took place shortly after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, remains under investigation.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Estherville Police Department, the Estherville and Wallingford Fire Departments, and the Estherville Ambulance Service.
