Polaris Industries To Move Some Of Its Motorcar Production To Spirit Lake

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Another major announcement from Polaris Industries.

The company says it will move some production of electric vehicles from North Dakota to its plant in Spirit Lake.

Officials with Polaris Industries say the company will close its Global Electric Motorcars operation in Fargo, N.D. Other Global Electric operations will move to Polaris offices in the Minneapolis area or to a Wyoming facility.

Polaris is buying Global Electric from Chrysler group.

Production of the on-road electric vehicles at Spirit Lake is expected to begin late in the fourth quarter.

Polaris says it can’t pinpoint yet how many new jobs the production will require at the Spirit Lake plant, which already manufactures Victory Motorcycles and Ranger all-terrain vehicles.
