(Spirit Lake)– Emmet County Kinship and the YMCA of the Okoboji’s Kinship programs are about to become one.
The entities will be merging effective July 1st.
Norm Johnson, CEO of the YMCA of the Okoboji’s, says the arrangement will allow them to share programming, volunteers, mentors and mentees. He says it will allow the coordinator of the joint programs to establish new relationships and support existing matches in Dickinson and Emmet counties and beyond.
The new committee that will oversee the merged Kinship programs will have members of the previous boards from both counties.
