(Estherville)– Students at Iowa Lakes Community College will have the option this fall to participate in a book buyback program.
School officials say the college bookstores will guarantee to buy books back at a full 50 percent of their retail value. They say that will include a select number of titles typically considered as “core” courses…such as Math for Liberal Arts, Principles of Accounting and Intro to Psychology.
Sandra Naig, Bookstore Coordinator for Iowa Lakes, says book titles that are part of the program will have a “buyback” sticker on them.
Naig says the program will officially start this fall with students purchasing books effective August 15th. All books must be returned by a specific date and have to be in good condition.
She adds they’re hoping that a ‘rental’ program could be piloted in the spring of 2012.
Iowa Lakes Community College has bookstores at its campuses in Estherville, Emmetsburg and Spencer. Bookstore services are provided at the Algona and Spirit Lake campuses on selected dates.
