(Sibley)– A single-vehicle crash Monday in Osceola county sent four people to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Brittany Van Veldhuizen of Rock Valley was driving a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville northbound on Olive Avenue and was attempting to turn right onto 220th Street when she lost control. The vehicle went into the north ditch and came to rest in a bean field.
VanVeldhuizen and three passengers, Erica Dykstra, Michael Blankespoor and Jacob Soodsma…all of Rock Valley…sustained non-incapacitating injuries and were taken to the Osceola Community Hospital for evaluation.
$4,500 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
VanVeldhuizen was cited for failure to maintain control.
The crash took place shortly before 12:30 p.m.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Sibley Fire and Rescue and the Sibley ambulance.
