(Spirit Lake)– A special event to welcome home Dickinson county troops will be held next month in Spirit Lake.
Rick Collins of the Spirit Lake VFW Post tells KUOO news the event is being planned for August 23rd at the Spirit Lake VFW Memorial Hall.
Collins says returning soldiers, their families, members of the county’s Legion and VFW posts and auxiliaries are invited.
Collins says the Dickinson County Cattlemen have donated steaks that they’ll be grilling for the event that evening.
In addition, Sheryl McKevitt of the Milford American Legion Post says they’re looking for donations from area businesses for gift bags to be presented to the soldiers.
