(Spirit Lake)– Minor injuries were reported when a vehicle collided with a scooter Saturday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 30th Street in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say 77-year-old Doris Macek of Milford was driving a 2004 Dodge Neon southbound and had stopped at the stop lights, waiting to turn east onto 30th Street. Authorities say the scooter, operated by 70-year-old Marion Rosenboom of Spirit Lake, was westbound on 30th Street following another vehicle. Authorities say the mirror on the vehicle driven by Macek struck the scooter when it darted out from behind another vehicle.
Rosenboom was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with what was believed to be only minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Macek.
The mishap took place shortly before 2:30 p.m.
