(Everly)– A motorcycle crash Sunday in Clay county sent one person to the hospital.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 63-year-old James Stanzel of Spencer was driving a 1977 Harley Davidson west on Highway 18 near Barb’s Corner when he was struck by a bird, causing his motorcycle to leave the roadway and go onto the shoulder. Stanzel then lost control of the motorcycle, which went into the ditch.
Stanzel was taken to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Hospital ambulance and paramedics; the Everly First Responders; and the Iowa State Patrol.
