(Sioux City)– An Estherville man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to meth charges in U.S. District Court.
51-year-old Gregg Wycoff was sentenced to the prison term Monday in federal court in Sioux City, after pleading guilty in February of this year to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and possessing meth with intent to distribute.
At the plea hearing, Wycoff admitted to conspiring to deliver atleast 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine from about 2004 through September of last year in and around the Estherville area. On September 28th, 2010, law enforcement officers conducted a search of Wycoff’s residence that turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, a digital scale, cash and other items associated with drug trafficking. Wycoff’s residence is located within 1,000 feet of a city park in Estherville.
In addition to the prison term, Wycoff must also serve 10 years of supervised release.
He’s being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal pending transport to a federal prison.
The case was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Estherville and Spencer Police Departments, and the Emmet and Clay County Sheriff’s Offices.
