(Spencer)– A domestic disturbance Wednesday landed a Spencer couple in jail.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the disturbance at the Country Villa Trailer Court at 3655 240th Avenue around 5:00 p.m. Following a brief investigation, deputies made contact with 29-year-old Christopher Wells of Spencer. Wells then locked himself inside the residence. Deputies forced their way in and arrested Wells, who was transported to the Clay county jail.
Upon further investigation, deputies interviewed a second suspect, 31-year-old Bonnie Wells of Spencer. Authorities say she became uncooperative and was placed under arrest at the jail.
Both were charged with interference with official acts. Cory Wells was additionally charged with domestic abuse assault.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
