(Spirit Lake)– Voters in the Spirit Lake Community School District Tuesday approved a revenue purpose statement for the state one cent local option sales tax.
The measure was approved, 168 yes to 60 no.
Only 3.9 percent of those eligible to vote turned out for Tuesday’s election.
Proceeds from the LOST can be used for facility construction, re-construction, repair, demolition work, purchasing our remodeling of school buildings, stadiums, gyms, fieldhouses, and bus garages, along with the procurement of school construction sites, transportation equipment and public recreation.
The new revenue purpose statement will remain in effect until it’s either amended or replaced by the district.
