(Arnolds Park)—A lakes area philanthropic group is reminding non-profit organizations in the Iowa Great Lakes that it’s deadline for accepting grant applications is quickly approaching. Applications to the Okoboji Foundation must be submitted by March 1st in order to be considered in the upcoming grant cycle.
The foundation has awarded more than $2.3 million in grants since 1988 to address vital needs throughout the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
Foundation officials say they will once again have about $100,000 to award in the upcoming grant cycle.
Grants focus on structures, physical property or equipment that makes a lasting positive impact on the Iowa Great Lakes community.
Two different classifications of grants will be awarded: Community Needs Grants consisting of requests of $500 to $24,999 and Leadership Grants with requests of $25,000 or more. Community Needs Grant applications will be reviewed by the Youth In Philanthropy and Grants Committee; Leadership Grant applications will be reviewed by the Grants Committee and submitted by ballot to Okoboji Foundation investors.
