(Spencer)—The Iowa State Patrol has released details into a fiery single-vehicle crash that took place this past Saturday in Clay county.
Troopers say 62-year-old Francine Lundberg of Albert City was driving a 2000 Buick northbound on 320th Avenue when she lost control on the gravel road. The vehicle went into the east ditch where it flipped over. Authorities say Lundberg managed to climb out of the vehicle through the driver side window before it became engulfed in flames.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but Lundberg refused treatment.
The vehicle was totaled.
The crash took place around 8:20 a.m.
Authorities say it remains under investigation and that charges are pending.
