November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A man and woman from southwest Minnesota face a myriad of charges following investigations into various incidents by the Spencer Police Department.

Authorities say it all started on Monday when Spencer police received information from a local business that a check written by Kayla Fuller of Pipestone, Minnesota had been forged. Fuller was located on a traffic stop and was arrested in connection with the incident.

On Tuesday, Spencer police say they received information from a southwest Minnesota law enforcement agency stating they had charges of Fuller’s boyfriend, Anthony Pistachio of Iona, Minnesota, and that he was staying at a hotel in Spencer. Pistachio was wanted on charges of terroristic threats, domestic assault and violation of a no contact order. Police located Pistachio and arrested him on the warrants.

A subsequent investigation resulted in officers obtaining a search warrant for the hotel room in which Pistachio had been staying. It resulted in them finding what’s alleged to be marijuana and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and weapons.

On Wednesday, Spencer police say they received a report from a local truck stop regarding a camper trailer parked in their parking lot that had been dropped off by Pistachio and Fuller. Upon investigating, officers determined the camper trailer has been stolen from Pipestone county, Minnesota. A search of the camper trailer turned up numerous items believed to have been stolen. Similar items were found in the hotel room that were turned over to police.

Fuller and Pistachio were charged by Spencer police with theft in the 1st degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance; forgery; felon in possession of a firearm; possession of an offensive weapon; theft in the 2nd degree and interference with official acts.

Spencer police were assisted in their investigation by the Pipestone County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office; the Murray County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office; the Pipestone, Minnesota Police Department and the Slayton, Minnesota Police Department.
