November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)—A Spirit Lake man critically injured in a car crash on Interstate 90 February 2nd that claimed the life of a six-year-old boy has died of his injuries.

44-year-old Kevin Bakker died this past weekend.

The same crash claimed the life of six-year-old Jonah Holmes of Spirit Lake.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Bakker was driving a vehicle eastbound on I-90 west of Worthington when it was broadsided by a vehicle driven by 30-year-old James Fisher of Luverne, Minnesota.

27-year-old Michelle Holmes, another passenger in Bakker’s vehicle, was seriously injured. An infant who was also a passenger wasn’t seriously injured.

Fisher was treated and released at a Worthington hospital.
