(Storm Lake)—A Sibley man working as a bartender faces charges for serving alcohol to minors at a Storm Lake bar.
Storm Lake police say officers who were conducting a routine check at Brewster’s Bar saw two females who appeared to be underage consuming alcohol in the establishment. The two girls allegedly gave officers false information. Upon investigating police determined one to be 16-years-old and the other 17. They were arrested and charged with possession of alcohol and interference with official acts. The 16-year-old was additionally charged with public intoxication. Both were referred to juvenile court services and released to their parents.
The bartender, 22-year-old Matthew Linquist of Sibley, was charged with two counts of supplying alcohol to minors.
Police say a report of the incident is being forwarded to the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Control Office.
