Big Changes For Iowa Lakes RC & D Operations

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)—Some big changes for the Iowa Lakes Resource Conservation and Development, or RC & D.

The organization’s office in Spencer was closed effective this past January 1st, and while officials say it’s still active, that they’re determining the best course of action for the future.

The Iowa Lakes RC & D has also terminated its e-waste recycling business and has turned that over to a Spencer-based business, Info Dog Security. That change was also effective the 1st of the year.

The Iowa Lakes RC & D serves a seven-county area of northwest Iowa, including Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto counties. It’s been in existence 16 years.

Officials say the organization was started 16 years ago with the intent of addressing natural and human resources to advance economic and social betterment of northwest Iowa.
