(Ocheyedan)—No injuries were reported Saturday in a collision in Osceola county involving an ambulance and a pickup.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a 2006 GMC Sierra driven by 42-year-old Wendy Swarthout of Ocheyedan was eastbound on Highway 9 near Ocheyedan when she crossed the centerline and sideswiped an ambulance owned by the city of Spencer and driven by 45-year-old Neal Eisenbacher of Spencer. A mirror on the ambulance was broken off; the mirror on the pickup was also broken off and the driver’s side window was shattered. Damage to the ambulance was put at $1,000 with the pickup sustaining an estimated $500 in damage.
Swarthout was cited for failure to yield half the roadway when meeting a vehicle.
The collision took place around Noon Saturday.
