(Spencer)—Minor injuries were reported in a single-vehicle crash last Thursday on Highway 18 near Everly.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 67-year-old Abraham Born of Clear Lake was driving a 2008 Cadillac westbound when the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the highway. Deputies say Born lost control when he attempted to pull back onto the snow-covered road. The vehicle went into the south ditch and traveled into a cornfield before coming to rest.
A passenger, Linda Born, was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where she was treated and released.
$3,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The crash took place shortly before 9:30 p.m.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer ambulance and paramedics and Everly Fire and Rescue.
