(Lake Park)—No injuries were reported in house fire Thursday afternoon in Lake Park.
Lake Park Fire Chief Brandon Ehret tells KUOO news firefighters were called to the Rick and Melanie Brons residence at 109 East 4th Street around 2:00 p.m. He says an initial report indicated someone may have been trapped in the house. At that point there was a small fire. He tried to extinguish it himself before he evacuated the house. Looks at this time the fire is believed to have started in the bedroom.”
Ehret says a cause hasn’t been determined, adding the State Fire Marshall was at the scene late Thursday afternoon. He says the damage was fairly extensive…(click here for comment.) “The fire damage was contained to the ceiling and roof line above. The kitchen sustained some damage to the doorway and the living room a little bit, but basically a lot of smoke damage. I’d say, you know, most, or the entire bedroom was engulfed, a good portion of the kitchen and living room sustained fire damage. It extended up into the wall into the upstairs. Fire damage was fairly minimal, we got that knocked down right away, so…”
