(Undated)– Iowans will have a chance to vote early in this year’s elections in just under a month. Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate said it’s not too early to request a mail-in ballot through your county auditor’s office, but the ballots are still being prepared and won’t be mailed until October 14th…
“October 14th is when the ballots will be ready, people can start that in-person, and that’s also the first day they’ll be mailing out the ballots to anybody that requests one by mail.”
An ID will be required when requesting a ballot…
“You can go right to the county auditor’s administrative offices or a courthouse, depending on what they have, and you bring your I.D. so you can prove who you are, and they’ll set you right up. It’s a very quick process.”
Pate says those who want to vote early in-person can go to the county auditor’s office starting on October 14th.
