Yager Named Citizen Of The Years

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A long-time Spirit Lake resident, former police chief and current city council member has been named 2001 Citizen Of The Years by a Spirit Lake Kiwanis Club. The honor was presented to Duane Yager at the club’s annual Christmas party earlier this week.

Yager was recognized for his many years of service to the community. He’s served in atleast some capacity with just about every service organization there is in Spirit Lake. And Yager says he wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.

Yager is completing his fourth year on the Spirit Lake City Council. Prior to that, he had 32 years of service with the Spirit Lake Police Department…22 of those as chief.

Yager thanked the community for giving him the opportunity to serve and thanked the Kiwanis for the special award.
