(Okoboji)– Details are somewhat sketchy, but officials say one person was injured this (Thurs.) morning in a construction accident in Okoboji.
Okoboji Police Chief Dave Jacobson tells KUOO news it happened around 10:00 a.m. near a condominium complex under construction behind the Okoboji Police Department…or old city hall.
Jacobson says a hoist being used to lift some sheeting apparently sunk in some mud and became top heavy, causing the lift to collapse onto a worker, who’s name and hometown weren’t immediately available.
The worker was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with what was believed to be a leg injury.
No other information, including the name of the company the worker was employed with, was immediately available.
